The Ekolot JK-05L Junior is an in composites built, strut supported high-wing, side-by-side two-seater, ultralight aircraft designed
and produced by Ekolot in Krosno, Poland. The JK-05L was designed to comply with the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale microlight
rules. The Ekolot JK-05L Junior was certified in Poland in February 2010. The aircraft is supplied as a kit for amateur construction
or as a complete ready-to-fly aircraft. The composites used for the construction are based on vinyl-ester resins, reinforced by glass
and carbon fibers. The fuselage has a form of integral self-supporting structure, strengthened locally with Parabeam woven fabric.
The width of the cockpit is 1,2 mtr. The seats in the cockpit are made of composite. The canopy is made of two transparent doors made
of polycarbonate, which are opened upward. Their hinges are situated along the axis of symmetry of the plane. Structure, which connect
both wings is a two dimension framework made of steel pipes. The fin is integral part of the fuselage. The tricycle landing gear consists
of two wheels with brake system mounted on legs made of composite and a steerable nose-wheel coupled with a rudder. Optionally, the wheels
can be covered with composite fairings. Wings have rectangular shape with characteristic narrowing near the fuselage to improve visibility
from the cockpit. The plane is powered by a 80 hp 4-cylinder-4-stroke liquid-cooled / air-cooled Rotax 912 UL engine. |
