The Robinson R44 Raven I is a single-engined light utility helicopter for
up to 1 crew and 3 passengers, powered by a carburetted Lycoming
O-540-F1B5 piston engine. The Robinson R44 is built and developed by the
Robinson Helicopter Company in Torrance, California. Design of the Model
R44 began in 1985. The first prototype flew on 31 March 1990 and the
second in January 1991. Sales efforts got under way in March 1992 at a
base price of 235.000 US-Dollars. FAA Type Certification for the R44
Astro was achieved on 10 December 1992, and the first Robinson R44 Astro
was delivered in February 1993. In 2000, the R44 Astro was replaced as
the main production model by the hydraulically-assisted R44 Raven. Today the four-seat Model R44 is
the world's most popular helicopter with over 6300 delivered to customers all

The 2001-built Robinson R44 Raven I s/n 1111 was registered D-HALG in Germany
with Air Lloyd Deutsche Helicopter Flugservice GmbH, Bonn/Hangelar Airport in October 2001.
On 24 January 2003, the helicopter was registered PH-FVZ in the Netherlands with
EBAG Helicopters BV, Ede. On 23 August 2006, Robinson R44 Raven I PH-FVZ was seen at the Heli-Holland heliport near
Emmen in the Netherlands. After the CofA of the R44 expired on 24 January 2011, registration PH-FVZ was cancelled as exported
to Germany on 13 December 2013. In Germany, registration D-HALC was reserved for the Raven I by Air Lloyd Deutsche Helicopter Flugservice GmbH,
Bonn/Hangelar Airport. The helicopter was stored first at Bonn Hangelar and in July 2014 the R44 was transported to Kassel-Calden
for overhaul and repaint by Helitec. On 6 January 2015, the Robinson R44 Raven I was registered D-HALC with Air Lloyd Deutsche Helicopter Flugservice GmbH. |
