The Alpi Aviation Pioneer 300 is a low-wing, side-by-side two-seater, ultralight and light-sport aircraft, designed and produced by Alpi Aviation Srl, Pordenone, Italy.
The aircraft is supplied as a kit for amateur construction. The roots of the Pioneer 300 are in the Asso 5 designed by the Italian designer Guiseppe Vidor. The
Pioneer 300 was designed to comply with the FAI microlight rules, as well as the US light-sport aircraft rules. Like Vidor's Asso, the Pioneer 300 has a wooden
fuselage frame but it is covered with composite skin panels instead with fabric. The Pioneer features a cantilever low-wing, a two-seats-in-side-by-side configuration
enclosed cockpit under a bubble canopy, a choice of fixed or retractable tricycle landing gear and a single engine in tractor configuration. The fixed landing gear
version is intended for the US light-sport aircraft category that does not permit retractable gear on landplanes. Its 8.10 m span wing is tapered in planform.
Engine options include next to the Rotax models as given by the variants, the 80 hp Jabiru 2200; 120 hp Jabiru 3300 and the 110 hp Midwest wankel. The basic Pioneer
