The Avid Aircraft Avid Flyer Mk.IV is a two-seat ultralight aeroplane with a fixed tricycle undercarriage.
In 1983, Dean Wilson developed the Avid Flyer, a lightweight aircraft with Cuyana engine
and tricycle landing gears. It was an instant success at Oshkosh in 1983 and won the
"Best New Design" award. Nowadays Avid Aircraft, Montana, USA produce the homebuilt
kits of the Avid aircrafts. The Mark IV is offered as a folding wing kit-plane; the
composition of the building package is tuned on the customer wishes. The customer can choose
the engine, tri-gear or tail wheel, wing, like the S.T.O.L.-wing, etc.

On 3 June 1993, the 1993-built Light Aero Avid Flyer s/n 1275D was registered PH-2K9 with W. Kruze. Winschoten.
On 1 October 1999, Light Aero Avid Flyer PH-2K9 was registered with J.O. Hobma, Tietjerk. On 26 February 2008,
the registered type of the aircraft changed into Avid Avid Mark IV. On 25 January 2011, E.J. Hobma, Balk, was
registered as owner of the PH-2K9. On 5 March 2021, registration PH-2K9 was cancelled as exported to Finland.
On 12 November 2011, Avid Avid Mark IV PH-2K9 was seen at Hoogeveen airfield (EHHO). |
