On 8 March 1969, Boeing 737-247 s/n 20127 l/n 144 was flown first. On 17 March 1969, the airliner was delivered as N4523W to Western Airlines. The N4523W was operated by Western Airlines with fleet number '223'. On 27 June 1980, the Boeing was transferred to the Mexican Air Force for use with the Medium Air Transport Squadron as the TP-03. Prefix TP-03 was used to indicate the aircraft's role: TP - Transporte Presidencial (Presidential Transport). In September 1980, the Boeing was noted that next to prefix TP-03, serial B-12001 was used. The aeroplane was written off after a crash landing at Loma Bonita, Mexico, on 10 May 1999.
The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator for the Boeing 737-247 is B732.
Boeing 737-247 B-12001 operated by the Fuerza Aèrea Mexicana, 8 Grupo Aéreo was a pleasant visitor at Brussels ((EBBR/BRU). The 1969-built Boeing was on finals when it was photographed on 15 May 1998.
