The Bombardier BD-700 Global 5000 is a twin-engine ultra long range executive jet aircraft for
2-3 crewmembers and up to 17 passengers. Development of the BD-700 started
late 1991 and the first prototype flew on 13 October 1996. On 31 July 1998, the Canadian certification
was granted and customer deliveries of the BD-700 started in 1999. The BD-700 is designed to fly long distances
at high speed. The range of the Global Express is 11.390 km at a cruise speed of 904 km/h. The Bombardier
BD-700 Global Express is powered by two Rolls-Royce Deutschland BR-710A2-20 turbofans. Improved versions of the
BD-700 Global Express are the Global Express XRS and the Global 5000. The Global Express XRS has an higher cruise speed,
increased range, improved cabin layout and lighting. The Global 5000 a shortened version of the Global Express XRS. It
is built on the same production line and the two types' serial numbers are intermingled. |

On 6 January 2006, the 2006-built Bombardier BD-700-1A11 s/n 9188 was registered C-FECN with Bombardier Inc., Donsview, Ontario.
After the aircraft was sold to France, the registration C-FECN was cancelled on 13 October 2006. The Global 5000 was registered F-HFBY
with Challenger Luxembourg S.A., Luxembourg, on 19 October 2006. The aircraft is operated by Bouygues, Paris. On 9 July 2009, Bombardier
BD-700-1A11 Global 5000 F-HFBY was seen at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands. |
