The Kaminskas Jungster 1 is a single-seat wooden ultralight homebuilt
biplane with a fixed tricycle undercarriage. In 1957, the aeronautical engineer Rim
Kaminskas of Los Angeles, CA, began with the designing of the Jungster 1. The simple
and strong design is based it on the Bucker Jungmeister. The prototype first flew in 1962
and development of the aircraft lasted until 1964. The Jungster 1 is
known a wooden airplane as much of the structure is made of wood trusses
and the wings use spruce wood spars with fabric covering. There are
fittings that are 4130 steel and the struts, landing gear, engine mount
is made of 4130 tubing. Rim designed the Jungster 1 as an 80 percent
scale replica of the Bücker Bü 133 for homebuilt construction. The wings
are swept back an additional two degrees from the Jungmeister. The Jungster 1
is very simple to build, however no kits are available. The plans are clear and
easy to follow, just like building a big model airplane. |
The Jungster 1 F-PYVI was built in 1986 by Association pour la Restauration du Patrimoine Aéronautique under serial number JI-76003R.
On 13 February 1987, the biplane was registered F-PYVI by Association pour la Restauration du Patrimoine Aéronautique, St. Brest. On

Jungster 1 F-PYVI was registered with M. Passemar and on 14 May 1999 with J.F. Rouger. On 1 September 2004, the Jungster 1 F-PYVI was registered
with P. Pecoraro, F. Mouton and B. Marx. On 7 July 2008, the aircraft was registered with B. Teernstra, Stiens, the Netherlands, and based at Drachten
airfield. On 15 May 2014, the Jungster 1 F-PYVI was registered with L. Philippe, Saint Cristina d'Aro, Spain,
and moved to Spain. On 12 November 2011, Jungster 1 F-PYVI was seen at Hoogeveen airfield (EHHO). |
