Hoogeveen aerodrome (EHHO)

Hoogeveen airfield is situated in the Netherlands, at the eastside of the city at the co-ordinates N 52° 43' 54.1",  E 006° 31' 02.0". The runway direction is 10-28, the length of the grass runway is 1200 meters. The tower frequency of Hoogeveen airfield is: 127.35 MHz, the gliderfrequency is: 122.50 MHz.

Hoogeveen aerodrome is the home of a number of lightplanes and flying oldtimers. The airfield hosts Dutch Nostalgic Wings, Stichting Vliegsport Seagull, a flying- and a gliderclub, a paraclub, flying school Sky Unlimited and a number of aviation related companies like AirBet and ATN Aircraft Division. A special building at the airfield is the hangar that was original constructed in 1936 at Ypenburg near The Hague. After Ypenburg airport was closed, this former Fokker hangar was broken down at Ypenburg and rebuilt at Hoogeveen early 2000. At Hoogeveen, the hangar was the home of an aviationmuseum. The museum and the related "Aeropark Hoogeveen" ran into financial problems. The Museum as well as the related "Aeropark Hoogeveen" had to end business.

a number of aeroplanes is rebuild and restored at Hoogeveen airfield:

ATN Aircraft Division rebuilds and restores historic aeroplanes. Among the projects are the rebuild of a Fairchild PT-29 and two 1941-built Consolidated Vultee BT-13A Valant aircraft. The Vultee BT-13A Valant was extensively used as a basic training platform for instrument and night flying in the U.S.A. during WW II. Many pilots, including Dutch, are trained on these aircraft during the forties. The two Vultee BT-13A Valants will get the original U.S.Navy scheme when in use for the training of the Dutch pilots: totally polished with the American Stars and Bars and squadron markings. The first BT-13A will enter the US-register as N56330. After this aircraft is test flown at Hoogeveen it will be delivered to its new owner in Florida, USA. Next to these projects some other historic aircraft, like the SE-5 N640AB will be brought back in flying condition at Hoogeveen aerodrome.
