The Antonov An-12 is a four-engine transport aircraft with a max payload of 20,500 kg or up to 4 crew and 90
troops. The An-12 (NATO reporting name 'Cub') is a military development of the An-10 airliner. The
An-12 flew first in 1958 powered by four Kuznetsov NK-4 turboprops and differs from the An-10 in
featuring a more upswept rear fuselage and rear loading ramp. Series production of the An-12, powered
by four Ivchenko AI-20K turboprops, in a number of variants continued until 1973. More than 1240
An-12s were built in the former USSR/Ukraine. |

Heli Air Services (HLR) is based at Sofia Airport, Bulgaria. Heli Air started in 1990 as a helicopter operator
having operations throughout the world since. In 2006, Heli Air is operating scheduled and
non-scheduled passenger and cargo air transport, aerial works, offshore operations, air ambulance
and fire fighting. Early 2006, Heli Air Services operated a fleet of a single Mil Mi-8 MTV and seven Mil Mi-8 helicopters,
six L-410 and four AN-12 airliners. The AN-12 cargo aircraft operated by Heli Air can carry up to 20 tones at a
distance of 1,300 km. Their Antonov An-12B LZ-CBE came in at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands on
24 February 2006. The aircraft was photographed when it departed to Dakar loaded with 12 tones cargo on 26 February 2006. |
