The CASA I.131E Jungmann two-seat biplane is a trainer evolved from the license built Bücker
Bü.131A Jungmann. Bücker Flugzeugbau was founded by Carl Bücker in 1932. Their first design was
the Bü.131A Jungmann powered by a 4 cylinder Hirth in line engine. The prototype "D-3150"
flew first 27 April 1934. The Jungmann was ordered by the Deutsche Luftsport Verband and used as a
trainer for the Luftwaffe. The Bü.131 was built under license in Japan, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia and Spain.
In Spain production started 1938 and the CASA I-131 remained in production with the Construcciones
Aeronàuticas Sociedad Anonima (C.A.S.A.) till the end of the fifties. The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator

C.A.S.A. I.131E Jungmann s/n 1078 was built in 1954 for the Ejército del
Aire Español - Spanish Air Force - and registered E.3B-379. The
aircraft was fitted by CASA with an E.N.M.A. Tigre G-IV-Ax engine. In
service with the Spanish Air Force the Jungmann was used as a training
aircraft. On 23 February 1981, after being withdrawn from use by the
Spanish Air Force, the aeroplane was registered EC-DKV with REAL Aero
Club de Albacete. On 28 October 1983, the EC-DKV was registered with
Laboratorio Orive, S.A. and the aircraft was registered with Juan Victor
LleoCorres on 5 August 1987. In 1994, the airframe was exported to
Belgium and registered OO-OLE on 20 July 1994. Jungmann OO-OLE is
powered by an E.N.M.A. Tigre G-IV-B engine. In 1997, the OO-OLE moved to
the Netherlands and was based at Teuge airfield near Apeldoorn till 16
March 2005. That day, the aircraft was ferried to Sligo in Ireland.
Registration OO-OLE was cancelled on 19 August 2005 and the CASA 1-131E
was registered G-CDJU in the UK by its new owner, Bob Roemer, Sligo,
Ireland, on 25 August 2005. CASA 1-131E Series 1000 G-CDJU was registered with Peter Gaskell, Warrington, UK, on 9 February 2010.
On 24 April 2001, CASA I-131E Jungmann OO-OLE was seen in Spanish Air Force E.3B-379 '72-36' colors at Hoogeveen aerodrome (EHHO). |
