The Antonov An-12 is a four-engine transport aircraft with a max payload of 20,500 kg or up to 4 crew and 90
troops. The An-12 (NATO reporting name 'Cub') is a military development of the An-10 airliner. The
An-12 flew first in 1958 powered by four Kuznetsov NK-4 turboprops and differs from the An-10 in
featuring a more upswept rear fuselage and rear loading ramp. Series production of the An-12, powered
by four Ivchenko AI-20K turboprops, in a number of variants continued until 1973. More than 1240

AeroVis Airlines (VIZ) is based at Rovno, Ukraine. Aviation Company "AeroViz" is a cargo airline,
established in 2003. Today, AeroVis operates six Antonov An-12 aircraft
on their cargo charters. Their Antonov An-12BK UR-CGU came in at
Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands as "VIZ29393" from
Chernivtsi, Ukraine, on 24 May 2010. The next day, the An-12BK departed as "VIZ2394" on a cargo
charter to Harstad-Narvik/Evenes in Norway. This 1967-built Antonov An-12BK was operated by the USSR - Russian
Air Forces as "09" red. After being withdrawn from military service,
the Antonov was stored at Domodedovo Airport, Moscow, Russia, and
offered for sale in September 2006. The Antonov An-12BK was sold to
AeroVis Airlines and entered service as UR-CGU in 2009. |
