The Van's Aircraft RV-6, is a side-by-side two-seater, single-engine, low-wing homebuilt aircraft with either tricycle or tailwheel landing gear.
The RV-6 is an all-around sport airplane, with excellent cross-country capability, fine aerobatic qualities and superior handling and capable of
covering long distances at high speed. The side-by-side RV-6 and the tricycle gear RV-6A were introduced in 1986 and soon became the best-selling
kit aircraft. More than 2600 RV-6’s were built. The RV-6/6A were sold in kit form and as a complete ready-to-fly aircraft by Van's Aircraft of Aurora, Oregon,
USA. Van's Aircraft was founded in 1972 by the American aircraft designer Richard E. VanGrunsven. In 2001, the RV-6 was replaced by the RV-7. The RV-7 design
is derived from the RV-6, the main difference being a longer wing with slotted flaps to improve short-field capability. More than 2600 RV-6’s are completed.
The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator for both Van's Aircraft RV-6 and RV-6A is RV6. |

On 14 April 2000, the amateur built Van's Aircraft RV-6 s/n PFA 181A-13173 was registered G-ODEE in the UK by David Powell. Although registered G-ODEE in 2000, 2002
is given as the year built. David Powell fitted it's Van's RV-6 G-ODEE with a single Lycoming O-320-B2C air-cooled, four-cylinder, direct-drive engine. On 22 June 2005,
the G-ODEE was registered with M.M.D. van Eeghan in the Netherlands. On 3 January 2006, registration G-ODEE was cancelled as exported to the Netherlands and the next day,
the aircraft was registered PH-RVM in the Netherlands with M.M.D. van Eeghen, Bloemendaal. On 22 March 2007, registration PH-RVM was cancelled as exported to the UK and
the next day registration G-ODEE was restored with Dennis Cook, Middleton, as owner of the Van's RV-6. On 20 July 2015, the G-ODEE was registered with Joe Redfearn, Morley.
On 13 August 2005, Van's Aircraft RV-6 G-ODEE visited the International Old Timer Fly-in 2005 at Schaffen-Diest aerodrome in Belgium. |
