The Cessna 150 is a two-seat single engined high wing light aircraft of
all-metal construction. Cessna Aircraft Company began in the mid 1950s
with the development of the Model 142, a tricycle-geared two place trainer.
The Model 142 was based on the tail-wheel Model 140. After the Cessna 142 N34258
was flown first in September 1957, the Model 142 was renamed Model 150. Production of the
Cessna Model 150 started with 122 built during 1959. In 1966, Reims Aviation S.A. started production in Reims, France
of a version of the 150 designated the Model F150. Reims Aviation S.A. built a total of 1758
Reims/Cessna F150 airplanes. The Cessna 150 was offered for sale in named configurations that included
the Standard basic model, the Trainer with dual controls, and the deluxe Commuter, along with special options
for these known as Patroller options. Later, these configurations were joined by the top-end Commuter II and
the aerobatic Aerobat models. When production ended in 1977 a total of 23840 airframes were built. The ICAO
Aircraft Type Designator for the Reims/Cessna F150J is C150.
The 1973-built Cessna 150J s/n 150-74157 was registered N2024 in the USA. On 23 January 1979, the aircraft was re-registered N19086.
On 29 March 1988, the aircraft was registered OO-GAP in Belgium as a Cessna 150J. The OO-GAP was used by the Antwerpse Aeroclub.
On 29 August 1996, registration OO-GAP was cancelled as exported. Over the years the aircraft was modified and re-engined. On
20 November 1996, the aircraft was registered N2024 in the USA as a Cessna 150L. Altough registered in the USA with an Aircraft
Guaranty Corp. Trustee, the Cessna was owned and operated in the Netherlands. On 1 August 2022, registration N2024 was cancelled
as exported to the Netherlands. On 31 Augustus 2022, Cessna 150L s/n 15074157 was registered PH-FAT in the Netherlands with GPS
Flight-Academy GmbH & Co KG in Germany. The PH-FAT is operated by Flight Academy Speyer and has its home at Flugplatz Speyer/Ludwigshafen
(EDRY/ZQC). On 17 May 2023, Cessna 150L PH-FAT was seen in service with Flight Academy Speyer at Flugplatz Speyer/Ludwigshafen (EDRY/ZQC).
