The Cessna 152 is a two-seat single engined high wing light aircraft of all-metal construction. Cessna Aircraft Company began in the mid 1950s with the development of the Model 142, a tricycle-geared two place trainer. The Model 142 was based on the tail-wheel Model 140. After the Cessna 142 N34258 was flown first in September 1957, the Model 142 was renamed Model 150. During 1959, production of the Cessna Model 150 started. In 1977, the Cessna Model 150 was replaced in production by the basically similar Cessna Model 152. Improvements included a more powerful Avco Lycoming 0-235 engine giving 108-hp, plus installation and cowling changes to reduce engine noise and vibration, together with a McCauley propeller of a modified blade section. Between 1977 and 1986 the Cessna Model 152 was available in four versions; the standard Model 152, the slightly heavier Model 152 II with a package of factory installed avionics and omni-directional light beacon, the further improved Model 152 Trainer with other improvements including an intercom system and transponder, and the Model 152 Aerobat with the same aerobatic capabilities as the 150 Aerobat. When production ended in 1986 a total 7.482 Model l52 and Aerobats were manufacrured, including 640 built under license by Reims Aviation S.A. in France.
The ICAO Aircraft Type Designator for the Cessna 152 is C152.

The 1980-built Reims/Cessna F152 II s/n F15201714 was temporary registered PH-AXW with Air Service Holland BV. On 30 January 1980, the aircraft was reistered PH-VSN with Stichting Vliegmaterieel Hoeven and based at Seppe aifield. On 15 March 1990, the PH-VSN was regsitered with J. Mastenbroek, Heijningen, and on 30 August 1993, with Holdingmaatschappij E.T.T., Sprang-Capelle. On 25 september 1996, the Cessna F152 II PH-VSN was registered with Aero Noord, Hoogeveen, as holder and D. de Ruiter, Hoogeveen, as owner. On 8 March 2000, PH-VSN was registered with R&V Aero Beheer, Hoogeveen, as holder and D. de Ruiter as owner. On 26 May 2000, Aero Noord was registered as holder and R&V Aero Beheer as owner. On 19 August 2001, the aircarft was seriously damaged by a crash during take-off from Hoogeveen airport. After repairs the aircraft was returned to service. After losing her pilot training permits on 1 October 2012 and 1 November 2012, Aero Noord no longer had any income and on 19 November 2012, she filed her own bankruptcy declaration. On 26 November 2012, Cessna F152 II PH-VSN was registered with R&V Aero Beheer. In March 2016, the new formed AirBet annouced that they would take over the activities of Aero Noord including the hangar at Hoogeveen and the operations of some planes, including Cessna F152 II PH-VSN.
On 13 April 2007, Cessna F152 II PH-VSN was seen in service with Aero Noord at the home base Hoogeveen airfield (EHHO).
