The Cessna 150 is a two-seat single engined high wing light aircraft of
all-metal construction. Cessna Aircraft Company began in the mid 1950s
with the development of the Model 142, a tricycle-geared two place trainer.
The Model 142 was based on the tail-wheel Model 140. After the Cessna 142 N34258
was flown first in September 1957, the Model 142 was renamed Model 150. Production of the
Cessna Model 150 started with 122 built during 1959. When production ended in 1977 a
total of 23840 were manufactured. In 1966, a version of the 150 designated the Model
F150 started production in Reims, France. The Reims Aviation S.A. built a total of 1758
Reims/Cessna F150 airplanes.
On 19 August 1984, Reims Aviation S.A. built Cessna F.150L Commuter PH-GDA was photographed at Hoogeveen
airfield with "Fire-Patrol" titles. Aero Noord operated the PH-GDA in that period on fire-patrol flights above the woods of
the province Drenthe in the Netherlands. The PH-GDA (ex D-EOFU) was registered in the Netherlands
on September 9th 1976 with Air Services Holland BV on 9 September 1976. The in France built Reims/Cessna PH-GDA was
operated by Aero Noord Nederland from January 1980 until November 1985 with different registered
owners. On 5 November 1985, the Cessna was sold to Skylight BV. The PH-GDA served with Skylight BV
until it crashed near Zeewolde in the Netherlands on 31 August 1996. The registration PH-GDA was
cancelled on 6 February 1997.
