The Thor T1-2 is a 2-seat single-engine, high-wing microlight aeroplane built by Thor Air Inc. in Canada.
The THOR 1 ultralight aircraft was designed, developed, manufactured and test flown by Thorsten B Strenger.
There were three models of the Thor ultralight: the T1, T1A and the two-seater T1 II. The Thor T1-II weights
only 146kg. A total of apx 127 aircrafts were build by Thor Air. The 1984-built C-IGAX has an
Airframe Parachute System in a tube above the pilot-seat: in this tube is the parachute to lower the
entire aircraft to the ground in extreme emergencies like an engine failure. In 1991, C-IGAX was cancelled
from the Canadian register as exported. On 18 December 1993, Thor T1-2 C-IGAX was seen at Flugplatz Damme in Germany. |
