Oasis International Airlines was founded as Andalusair in 1986.
Andalusair was acquired in 1988 by Oasis Hotel Group and
renamed Oasis International Airlines. Operations began using McDonnell Douglas MD-80/MD-83
aircraft on charter flights from Great Britain, Holland and other points in Europe to Spain.
Due to financial problems Oasis Airlines had to end its activities in 1996. Oasis Airlines used IATA code: OB, ICAO code: AAM and callsign: OASIS.
In June 1988, McDonnell Douglas MD-83 EC-EIK was photographed at
Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands. In 1988, Oasis Airlines was
active at Groningen Airport Eelde on the IT-charterprogram. McDonnell
Douglas MD-82 s/n 49668 flew first on 23 March 1988. The MD-82 was
converted to MD-83 before delivery. On 16 May 1988, the McDonnell
Douglas MD-83 was temporary registered EC-163 before receiving its
registration EC-EIK in Spain on 16 June 1988. The MD-83 was leased from
GPA and served only a short period with Oasis. After being registered
with AVIACO as EC-289 and again EC-EIK it returned to GPA as EI-CGA.
