TC-ONP McDonnell Douglas MD-88 c/n 53549 l/n 2185 - Onur Air - Groningen Airport Eelde in Holland - 6 March 2001 Groningen Airport Eelde (GRQ)

Onur Air was founded on 14 May 1992 and started their flying operations started with the Airbus A320. In 2005, Onur operated a fleet of 24 airliners including the Airbus A.300, A.320 and A.321 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-88. The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 s/n 53549 l/n 2185 TC-ONP flew first in May 1997 and was delivered to Onur Air on 30 May 1997. When operated on flight OHY2264, MD-88 TC-ONP overran the runway 23 at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands during a rejected takeoff attempt on 17 June 2003. The MD-88 skidded about 50 meters beyond the runway threshold, impacting the runway lighting system as it slowed to a stop. After the TC-ONP was repaired the aircraft returned to Turkey on 29 November 2003.
