Iberworld Airlines was part of the Grupo Iberostar and started their
operations in April 1998 with two leased Airbus A320 airliners. In 2005
Iberworld operated a fleet of 10 airliners including the Airbus A.320
and A.330.
Airbus A.320-214 s/n 879 EC-GZD was originally built for GECAS and flown first with the test registration F-WWDD on 26 August 1998.
The Airbus was leased by Iberworld and delivered as EC-GZD on 10 December 1998. On 12 March 1999, Airbus A.320 EC-GZD was involved in an
accident at Groningen Airport Eelde in the Netherlands. While taxiing prior departure, the aircraft did not respond to the pedal brake and
in order to avoid a collision with another aircraft the captain manouvred the aircraft from the apron. The aircraft came to a stop in
the grass adjacent to the apron.
